# How do I change the email address on my Dropify account?

Your primary account email is locked and shown as read-only in **Personal Information** — you can't edit it yourself. You can add a verified **secondary email** as a backup from Security and Privacy, but changing the primary email itself requires contacting support and verifying your identity.

## Steps

1. To add a backup email: go to **Account Settings → Security and Privacy → Secondary Email**, click **Add**, verify your password, then verify the new address with the code sent to it.
2. To change your **primary** login email: email support from the email you'd like to remove access to (if possible), or explain your situation, and provide your account creation email, phone number on file, and store name.
3. Support verifies your identity — usually by asking you to send a message from the phone number linked to the account — before updating the primary email.

## Common problems

- Email field is greyed out in Personal Information → that's expected; the primary email can't be edited there. Add a secondary email instead, or contact support to change the primary one.
- Lost access to the email tied to the account entirely (e.g. an expired domain-based email) → contact support with your old email, phone number, and store name so they can verify ownership and update it.

- Request submitted but no update yet → email-change requests go through a manual identity check, so there's typically a short wait; follow up if you haven't heard back.
