# How to connect a custom domain to your Dropify store

Go to **Store Settings → Domains** and add your domain name, then point its nameservers to Dropify's servers — this is the supported way to connect a custom domain.

## Steps

1. Go to your domain provider's control panel (Namecheap, GoDaddy, Hostinger, Name.com, etc.) and find **domain management → custom nameservers**.
2. Replace the existing nameservers with `dns1.dropify.shop` and `dns2.dropify.shop`.
3. In Dropify, go to **Store Settings → Domains → Add Custom Domain**, enter the domain name (without `http` or `www`, e.g. `storedomain.com`), choose your **Domain provider** from the list, and click **Add domain**.
4. Wait for DNS to propagate — this usually finishes within a few hours, but can take up to 72 hours. You'll land on a connection status page that checks automatically and takes you to your store once it's live.
5. Once connected, go to **Store Settings → Domains** and use **Set as Primary** so the domain (not the default Dropify subdomain) is used across your store and landing pages.

You don't need to delete your free `.mydropify.shop` domain to add a custom one — both can exist, and the free one stays reachable even after you set a custom domain as primary.

## Common problems

- Domain still not active after several days → check with your provider that a WHOIS lookup shows the domain as actually registered/owned — an unregistered domain can't connect.
- Domain still shows "Not Connected" after adding it → use the refresh/Check DNS icon next to the domain in the list to re-check, and confirm no other DNS record (like an old A record) is overriding the nameservers — see [My domain is connected but the store still won't load](https://help.dropify.shop/en/domains_dns/domain-not-connecting-troubleshooting/).
- On your plan you get a limited number of domains; each additional domain costs 300 Coins and is billed monthly (shown when you try to add an extra domain).
- Buying a domain elsewhere (Hostinger, CupConnect, Dynadot, etc.) works the same way — the nameserver change happens on that provider's site, then you add the domain name in Dropify.
