# How do I track stock levels for my products?

Turn on **Inventory tracked** on a product to have Dropify count stock automatically and update its status as orders come in.

## Steps

1. Open a product and go to its **Inventory** section (or go to **Inventory** in the sidebar for all products at once).
2. Toggle **Inventory tracked** on, then enter the **Quantity** on hand for each location.
3. If the product has variants, tracking is done per variant in the variants table — set quantity for each variant separately.
4. Turn on **Continue selling when out of stock** if you want customers to keep ordering even after quantity hits 0.
5. If you sell cash-on-delivery, you can enable **Use confirmation rate for cash on delivery orders** and set a **Confirmation rate percentage** so the product shows as sold out earlier, based on expected order cancellations (e.g. 50% means it shows sold out after 200 leads for 100 items in stock).
6. On the main **Inventory** page, use **Filters → Stock Status** to view products that are In Stock (more than 10 units), Low Stock (10 or fewer), or Out of Stock (0 units).
7. On the main **Inventory** page, click the **Settings** (gear) icon to open **Inventory Settings**, and choose which order status reserves stock, which status finalizes (removes) it from available stock, and which statuses restore reserved stock back to available — this controls exactly when a sale or cancellation changes your numbers.

## Common problems

- Buy/Add to cart button is greyed out and won't add the product to the cart → the product's inventory quantity is 0 with tracking on. Add more stock, or turn off **Inventory tracked** for that product if you don't want to limit sales by quantity.
- Stock didn't decrease after an order was placed → check **Inventory Settings** to confirm which order status is set to "Completed" (finalize); quantity only updates once an order reaches that status.
- A cancelled or returned order didn't put stock back → make sure the order's new status is included in the **Restock** list under Inventory Settings.
- Product shows sold out with stock still available → you likely have a confirmation-rate percentage set for that product; lower it or turn the option off.
