# How to recover sales from abandoned checkouts

**Abandoned Checkouts** lists customers who started filling in the order form but didn't finish or submit it, so you can follow up and try to recover the sale.

## Steps

1. Go to **Orders → Abandoned Checkouts**.
2. Each row shows the product, customer name, phone number, email, address, country, sales channel, and when the checkout was started. Use the search box or **Filters** (product, customer, phone, email, address, country, sales channel, date) to narrow the list.
3. If a checkout has enough contact info (phone number and/or address), use the row's action menu and choose **Convert to Order** to turn it into a real order you can follow up on and process — or select several and use **Bulk Transfer**.
4. If a checkout has no useful contact info and isn't worth keeping, use **Delete Abandoned Checkout** (single) or **Bulk Delete** (multiple) to remove it from the list.
5. Use **Export Data** to download the list as CSV or XLSX, e.g. to call or message customers from outside Dropify.

## Common problems

- "Why are my orders showing up here instead of in Orders?" → a checkout lands here when the customer didn't finish entering their info or never completed the purchase; if it has a usable phone number, convert it to a regular order to follow up.
- Cart/click counts on my landing page don't match my order count → that's expected — a "cart" click is anyone who scrolled to the order form, but only the ones who actually completed and validated the form become orders; the rest, if they entered any info, appear here in Abandoned Checkouts.
- Empty list even though I know customers dropped off → they need to have entered at least some information for the store to be able to record the attempt; visitors who left before typing anything won't appear here.
