# How to manually create an order for a phone or WhatsApp sale

Use **New Order** to record a sale you took by phone, WhatsApp, or in person — the same order form your storefront checkout uses, filled in by you.

## Steps

1. Go to **Orders → Create an order** (or the "New Order" button on the Orders page).
2. Under **Products**, search for and add each product the customer is buying. If a product has variants (size, color, etc.), a picker opens so you choose the exact variant before it's added.
3. Under **Customer information**, search for an existing customer, or fill out the form below it manually: First Name, Last Name, Phone Number, Email, Country, City, and Street Address, plus an optional order note. You must provide either a phone number or an email — both are not required, but at least one is.
4. In the side panel, set **Discount Type** (Percentage or Fixed Amount) and the discount value, pick a **Shipping rate**, and choose the **Sales channel** the order came from (e.g. WhatsApp, Facebook, Other).
5. Review the **Order summary** (subtotal, discount, shipping fee, total), then click **Create Order**. If you have a COD partner connected, there's an option to send the order to it right away as part of the same save.

## Common problems

- "Create Order" button stays disabled → you need at least one product added and a customer selected (either picked from search or with the required contact fields filled in) before the order can be created.
- Phone number gets rejected → it must be in international format, e.g. `+212...`, with 7–15 digits after the country code; local-format numbers without a leading `+` will fail validation.
- Discount won't go above 100 → that's expected when Discount Type is set to Percentage; switch to Fixed Amount if you need a discount larger than the item price allows as a percentage.
