# My TikTok Pixel isn't detecting activity or purchase events

TikTok Pixel is added under **Apps > TikTok Pixel** (Pixel ID) with an optional **Events API** section for server-side events (Token, Pixel selection, Test Code). Events fire automatically once the pixel is saved and active — no custom event code is needed.

## Steps

1. Go to **Apps > TikTok Pixel**, add your pixel's **Name** and **Pixel ID**, and save.
2. In TikTok Ads Manager, when choosing which conversion event to optimize for, select **PlaceAnOrder** — TikTok renamed the standard purchase event, and older setups referencing "Purchase" may need to be switched to this.
3. Use TikTok's **Test Events** tool (in Events Manager) to confirm both PageView and PlaceAnOrder are received while you browse and complete a test order.
4. To add server-side tracking, open the **Events API** section, enter your **Token**, select a **Pixel ID** from the dropdown (you must have added at least one pixel first), and optionally a **Test Code**.

## Common problems

- TikTok shows "Not ready for campaign" / sees server events but not browser events → the Events API (server-side) can report correctly even if the base pixel script isn't loading in the visitor's browser. Check for ad blockers, slow script loading, or that the pixel is actually saved on the specific landing page being tested — not just the main store.
- Pixel works on the product page but not from the landing page → each landing page has its own pixel settings; confirm the pixel is added there too, not only on the store.
- Want to use two different TikTok pixels via the Events API (e.g. for two niches) → only one pixel can be linked to the Events API per store today; the browser-side pixel still supports multiple pixel IDs.
- Sales are attributed to the wrong platform (e.g. showing as Facebook instead of TikTok) → this is an attribution/reporting issue, not a sign the pixel isn't firing; verify with Test Events rather than the sales-source label alone.
- Want phone sent for TikTok's Event Match Quality (EMQ) on COD orders → it already is — Dropify sends a hashed phone number along with IP address, user agent, and the visitor's TikTok click/cookie IDs when available; name is not currently sent.
