# How do I password-protect my store before launch?

Easy Lockdown puts a password screen in front of your store and/or landing pages, so only people with the password can view them — useful before a public launch.

## Steps

1. Open **Easy Lockdown** from Apps.
2. Under **App Settings**, set a **Password**.
3. Choose **Lockdown options**: Lock online store, Lock landing pages, or Lock Both.
4. Click **Save changes**. The app shows **Currently protecting**: Online Store, Landing pages, or Store & Landing pages, along with a Configured/Not Configured status.

## Common problems

- Visitors say the password doesn't work → passwords are case-sensitive; double-check what you typed into **Password** matches exactly what you're giving customers.
- Landing pages are still public after locking the store → confirm **Lockdown options** includes Landing pages (or Both) — locking the store alone doesn't lock landing pages, and vice versa.
- "Failed to unlock" message for a visitor → this is often just a wrong password entry; re-share the exact password, checking for extra spaces.
- Forgot the password you set → go back into **App Settings** and set a new password; there's no password recovery since you control it directly.
