# What is the WhatsApp AI Agent?

The WhatsApp AI Agent automatically chats with your customers on WhatsApp to confirm COD orders, recover abandoned carts and cancelled orders, upsell, and send marketing campaigns — all from your store's connected WhatsApp number.

## Steps

1. Install the **WhatsApp AI Agent** app and connect your WhatsApp Business number.
2. Open the **Dashboard** for a summary card per agent (Sales, Confirmation, Upsell, Marketing, Recovery) with stats and an on/off switch.
3. Customize each agent's name, personality, tone, and language from its settings icon.
4. Use **Live Chat** anytime to read or take over a conversation the AI is having.
5. Turn any individual agent off from the dashboard without disconnecting your number.

## Common problems

- Not sure which agent does what → Confirmation verifies new COD orders, Recovery follows up on cancelled orders and abandoned carts, Upsell offers add-ons after an order, and Marketing sends bulk campaigns; each can be switched on or off independently.
- Connecting is free but messages aren't → connecting your number costs nothing, but Meta charges per-conversation fees and Dropify bills coins per message sent; see the billing article for details.
- All sub-pages need a connected number → only **Settings** works before you connect a WhatsApp number; every other page needs an active connection first.
