Cash on Delivery shows/blocks checkout even when disabled
Cash on Delivery (COD) has two separate switches: the one in Store Settings, and a second one inside the Payment Methods block on your checkout/product page. Disabling it in only one place can leave COD still appearing, blocked, or throwing a "Cash on delivery is not available" error.
Steps
- Go to Store Settings → Payment Methods and click Disable on the Cash on Delivery (COD) card.
- Open the page builder for every checkout or product page that has a Payment Methods block (this includes any "Buy Now" flow, since it uses the same block).
- Click the Payment Methods block, open its settings, and check the COD entry inside — switch it off there too if you don't want to accept it, and make sure the card payment method (Stripe, PayPal, etc.) you do want is switched on.
- Save and republish each page, then test a purchase to confirm the option you expect is what shows.
Common problems
- COD is disabled in Store Settings but still shows at checkout, or blocks the order with "Cash on delivery is not available"the Payment Methods block on that specific page still has COD marked active in its own settings; update it there.
- Card payment doesn't show even though it's enabledthe same block needs the card gateway (e.g. Stripe) switched on inside its settings, not just enabled in Store Settings.
- "Buy Now" button leads to a COD page instead of checkoutadd the Payment Methods block to the product page as well, not just your funnel/landing checkout page, and enable the correct method inside it.
- This is different from the COD Partner app (used for delivery/order-confirmation logistics) — that's a separate integration and doesn't control which payment options a customer sees.
