How to change your storefront's language, including right-to-left (RTL)
Your theme's editor content language is set from the Editor Language dropdown in the theme builder's top bar; your store's overall storefront language is managed separately under Store Settings → Languages.
Steps
- To change which language you're editing text in inside the theme builder, use the Editor Language dropdown in the top bar — it lists the languages your current theme supports.
- To change your storefront's default/overall language, go to Store Settings → Languages.
- To switch a section from left-to-right to right-to-left, select the section (not an individual text element), open its Display settings, and switch the direction there.
- To translate individual field labels (e.g. checkout form fields), click that specific field and edit its Label/Placeholder text directly — there's no single toggle that translates every piece of text at once.
Common problems
- Applied a theme and it switched your store to Arabic automaticallymost theme text ships in Arabic and English by default; check Store Settings → Languages and the theme's Editor Language dropdown to set your preferred default.
- Want a language the theme doesn't ship with (e.g. Italian)the theme's built-in text only covers its shipped languages; other languages need each section's text translated manually, or a multi-language app to help manage translations across the store.
- Theme doesn't look right in Arabicmost themes fully support Arabic customization, including switching sections to right-to-left from the Display settings; if a specific theme genuinely lacks RTL support, contact support to confirm before switching your whole store to it.
- A specific page previews blank or doesn't match after a language changerefresh and re-check the live link, and contact support if the preview keeps failing to update.
