WhatsApp agent settings: phone numbers and working hours
Settings manages your connected phone numbers, working hours, and general AI behavior, and is the only page that works before you've connected a number.
Steps
- Go to Settings to see your connected phone numbers, each with a quality rating (High, Medium, Low, or New) and a Disconnect option.
- Under AI behavior, turn on skip emoji-only messages if you don't want the agent responding to those, and set a pause between replies (1–60 seconds) to merge rapid follow-up messages from a customer.
- Manage blocked phone numbers to stop the agent (and campaigns) from messaging specific customers.
- Set what happens when your store is closed: an auto-reply (up to 500 characters), don't reply, or queue the message for later.
- Set your support contact phone number and notification preferences.
Common problems
- Disconnecting your only numberthis closes open conversations and disables all automations; only disconnect if you're replacing it with another number right away.
- Number shows a Low or New quality ratingthis reflects Meta's own rating of your number based on recent messaging; keep response quality high and avoid spammy content to improve it over time.
- Agent replies too fast to a customer typing multiple messages in a rowincrease the pause between replies so it merges them into one response.
- Rate limits reachedthe platform allows up to 30 messages per minute and 500 per hour per store; heavy campaign sends can hit this and will pace out automatically.
