My domain is connected but the store still won't load
After you point a domain to Dropify, the connection normally completes within minutes once the DNS change takes effect. If it's still not connected after a few hours, something is wrong — the checks below cover the common causes.
Steps
- Open Store Settings → Domains and confirm the domain shows Connected, not Not Connected. If it's not connected, use the refresh/Check DNS icon, or re-verify the nameservers are exactly
dns1.dropify.shopanddns2.dropify.shop— see How to connect a custom domain to your Dropify store. - If the dashboard shows the domain as connected but the site itself shows a "Store Connection Error" or a 500/522 error, wait a short while and reload — this is often a propagation/caching delay that clears itself once DNS finishes updating.
- Still an error after waiting a day? Check whether the domain is still using its old nameservers (from a previous host, or Cloudflare) instead of Dropify's — a Cloudflare Error 522 (Host Timeout) in particular almost always means the domain is still on Cloudflare's nameservers rather than Dropify's.
- If you removed a custom domain and the store still won't load, check Store Settings for any redirect you configured for the store — a leftover redirect pointing away from your store can block access even after the domain itself is removed.
- If none of this resolves it, contact support with your domain name and a screenshot of your nameserver settings from your domain provider.
Common problems
- Cloudflare 522 error with active ads runningremove Cloudflare's DNS records/nameservers and point the domain to
dns1.dropify.shop/dns2.dropify.shopinstead; allow up to 48 hours after the switch. - "Store Connection Error" shown even though Domains page says Connected with correct DNSusually resolves after a recheck; if it persists more than a day, contact support with the domain name.
- Domain intermittently fails to load (
DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN)can also be a local network/browser DNS cache issue — try a different network or restart your router before contacting support. - Domain still not connected after a few hours with correct nameserverssomething is wrong; recheck that your nameserver records match exactly (
dns1.dropify.shopanddns2.dropify.shop), then contact support with a screenshot of your settings if they check out.
