SSL certificate not working on my custom domain
Dropify automatically issues and activates a free SSL certificate once your domain is fully connected — you never need to generate or upload a CSR or certificate yourself.
Steps
- Confirm your domain shows Connected under Store Settings → Domains. SSL is only issued after the domain finishes connecting, so an SSL error right after adding a domain is usually just the connection still in progress.
- Make sure you've added your main domain (e.g.
store.com), not only a subdomain — SSL for a subdomain-only setup can fail to activate until a main domain is added. - If you recently changed DNS records (switched providers, added new records, etc.), give it time to re-propagate — a fresh SSL certificate is issued after DNS settles, which can temporarily show "Not Secure."
- If the certificate error persists after the domain shows Connected and enough time has passed, contact support with the domain name — some
wwwsubdomain and certificate issues have required the development team to reissue the certificate.
Common problems
- "Not Secure" warning right after changing DNS recordsexpected temporarily; if it doesn't clear after propagation finishes, contact support rather than trying to generate your own CSR — Dropify handles certificate issuance automatically.
- Root domain works but
wwwshows a certificate errorreport this to support with both URLs; this has required a manual fix on Dropify's side in past cases. NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALIDor similar cert errors on yourmydropify.shopor connected domaincontact support, this is typically resolved by re-issuing the certificate on Dropify's side.- Browser flags your domain as "dangerous" or "phishing" (not a certificate error)this is Google/your browser blocklisting the domain name itself, not a Dropify security issue. Contact Google Search Console or your domain registrar directly — only they can lift this status.
